Time For Change

After a lot of consideration, I have changed my allegiance to Tumblr. My new blog link is http://sherryldever.tumblr.com/ See you there!

The Power of Choice in Business

Success is a matter of choice. Not necessarily the way you might think. Not a decision to be successful, not one big choice, but thousands of little choices, that need to be made moment to moment, every day. We need to stay educated on issues and trends impacting our businesses and industries. We need to use substantive facts on which to base our decisions.

Business Destinations

The truth of business destination is that if you do not know where you are going, any road will do. A clear destination improves your chances of arriving. Operating a business is more like sailing a great three-masted schooner than piloting a speed boat. The shortest distance between two points is not a straight line in business, no matter how much we wish it were. There are too many variables and too many opportunities to measure performance.

Emotion In Business

As humans we are emotional creatures. The passion of business is fueled by emotion. It is our consciousness and judicious use of both positive and negative emotions that are our obligation in the unwritten contract between us and the business world. In order to use the secret of emotion for business success we need to adopt certain organizing principals around treating emotional intelligence as a business tool.

Mind Of Business

A business’ foundation for success is based on a layers of beliefs, values, mission, vision, goals, objectives and actions that reveal successful results. As founders of an organization, it is our job to be clear about the founding values of our company and seek to align or bring on those of like minds to help us grow our organization as well as communicate them clearly so as to maximize our resources.

Monday

BUSINESS HEART

The truth is, our businesses are a direct reflection of our clarity or lack of clarity. Our clarity or lack of clarity of thought, planning, communication and action. Our business springs from our very thought process. Each concentric circle represents someone impacted by our clarity or lack of clarity within our sphere of influence. We are at the middle. We are the heart of the business. We are surrounded by our families, our company structure, our employees, our suppliers and vendors, our customers, our potential customers, then the rest of the world. We are the founder and primary manager of our businesses. When a problem or challenge arises in our business, it will primarily due to our either creating it or failing to plan for its contingency.

Know and understand how to use your business as a mirror for personal and professional change and growth.  To save countless hours of unproductive time and avoid wasting tens of thousands of dollars, when there is a problem, look within and first make sure we are clear about what we want before we include others in our plans and actions.
